About Toowoomba

Toowoomba, also known as ‘The Garden City’ is just and hour and a half drive from Brisbane. But it’s a world away from the hustle and bustle. The city is most famous for it’s annual Carnival of Flowers in September. A festival of music, food, gardens and entertainment. However there is now a new focus. Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, Australia’s first privately built airport since the 1960s is directly linking Toowoomba to the rest of Australia. Toowoomba now  receives direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Townsville and has 747 capability.

We have steadily become a national destination! Toowoomba’s iconic Art Deco Empire Theatre attracts world class acts most nights of the week. Its grungy Street Art, decorates over 100 walls and alley ways in the CBD. The historic Cobb n Co museum is packed with interactive displays and hands on workshops. And the weekly Farmer’s Markets is full of produce direct from surrounding farms. These are just some of the activities that locals and visitors enjoy.

Come and experience a true winter wrapped up cosily by a fire. Enjoy the russet autumn colours of the wonderful trees. The incredible flower displays in spring. Or the clear summer days. Toowoomba has it all!!
